Andy Barber President, HBA of South Carolina

As the HBA ramps down from a busy and productive legislative session we have begun to prepare for the State Convention, a very special event on the HBA yearly calendar. Whether you’ve been a regular attendee of the State Convention or especially if you’ve never attended please consider joining us this year. We will always be stronger as a group and the more people in the industry you know and the more knowledge you gain and offer, the better off we all are. This year’s State Convention will be held in Hilton Head at the Sonesta Resort. Hilton Head Island is a great place for us to improve and become stronger individually and as a group. It is also a great place to visit and the HBA fellowship is fun, warm, and inclusive.

Of great benefit to HBA members are the available continuing education courses. I attribute much of my success to the time spent learning and sharing ideas and concerns with others in the industry. If you are looking for a broader network, new business opportunities, liaisons, or partnerships that could positively affect your business don’t miss this opportunity for fun and future success. We will be bringing in several national speakers and some of the topics will include;

• Do You Know Who Your Buyers are and what they Want?

• How Small & Mid-Sized Builders Can Successfully Compete With the Giants

• What are the Next Building Trends in Residential Construction?

• Getting to Know the 2018 IRC Changes and Local Modifications

• How to Manage Your Reputation

• What are Opportunity Zones and how can Builders Benefit?

• How to Market to the Aging Population

• Shorten Your Build Time and Build Better
